There’s a way to make the timer infinite, but I don’t think it’s feasible/possible upon first visit to death mountain, if I remember correctly you have to get to the minimum health value (less than 1/4 heart) and it might require the double defense from ganons tower, at which point the drowning and burning timers just do not activate

The fierce mask's power is only surpassed by its uselessness. At that point in time, I already beat all the temple bosses several times and have no interest in doing it again. I also have no interest in fighting Majora again since I already defeated him many times before without it. I was more incentivized in getting all the masks so that I could see all the credits' scenes.
